Welcome to Cassandra by me, Tracey McCormick: informationer, languag-er, researcher, educator, adventurer chipping away towards the truth.
I take my inspiration from Cassandra, the mythological Trojan princess and prophetess who had the gift of prophecy with the curse of never being believed. Her legacy lives on: The truth and near-truth is difficult to accept, and it feels easier to just roll the horse into the city sometimes. My aim is to research and explain information literacy concepts using vetted resources. Even if Troy burns down around me while doing so.
I spent two decades in education as a teacher, administrator, trainer, and coach. I spent half that amount of time in graduate school, studying English literature, the teaching of writing, psychology, the science of reading, and most recently, library and information science with an informatics concentration. Vetted information is becoming an endangered species, and I'd like to repopulate the interwebs with information we can (basically) trust using tools + strategies + explanations of how.
